Weddings have moved on – have you?

Weddings have moved on – have you?

As many of you will know, as part of my role as a Stylist, I’m often asked to help brides, mothers of the bride and bridesmaids to find their perfect dress or outfit. I feel very privileged to be part of something so special and, as you can imagine, am always beyond excited to get involved.

I’ve written a few Style Post offering advice to wedding guests (click here and here)

However, just lately I have had several requests for advice on stylish bridesmaid dresses. It’s fair to say many bridesmaid dresses are often given bad press: think unflattering shapes, cheap materials, not to mention the fact one style rarely suits every woman’s body or taste! So you can imagine my delight when I came across Les Heroines. This genius brand offers bridesmaids (and brides) forward-thinking dresses, separates, tairloring and jumpsuits. So far the collection is available in pastel hues of mint, champagne and off-white but I’m hoping it will soon extend its colour pallette.

Here is a selection from their stunning collection. As you can see they are far from traditional but in my view that allows them to extend far beyond the bride and bridesmaid to make a stunning addition to to anyone’s wardrobe.

If this brand is a little TOO simple in terms of overall wedding style, remember there are some great bridesmaid alternatives from the high-street: Whistle, Ghost and Self Portrait to name a few. Many of these are not sold as bridesmaid outfits but don’t let that stop you.

If you know anyone who is struggling with outfits for bridal, bridesmaids or mother of the bride, my consultations are free so do pass on this Style Post. It would be a pleasure to sit down with them and discuss their perfect outfit. I also know some incredibly talented female tailors and dress designers if they are looking for a more bespoke piece.

Have a great week-end and feel free to share this post.
