Statement Coats…the gift that keeps on giving

Statement Coats…the gift that keeps on giving

Photography by Carlotte Dickinson

People often ask me if I have a huge wardrobe. The answer (unless you ask Killick) is “no”. However, I do own way too many coats. They are my weakness – especially a statement coat: that mood-lifting coat you can throw over your simplest outfit to bring it to life. I have sourced incredible statement coats for clients. Initially they felt they would look overdressed and only wear them occasionally, but now, they are hooked.

There is also the added bonus that a statement coat creates conversation. People instantly love to compliment you on it, ask where it’s from, or tell you how much they love the colour. Just yesterday, a lovely woman stopped me in my local coffee shop about this Max & Co coat. It was such a lovely start to my day - obviously I told her she needed it in her life and sent her off to Fenwick to buy it!

If you are in need (or would just love!) a new coat this season, why not step away from the traditional neutral shades and see the difference a statement coat will make to your confidence, your mood and your wardrobe. Here are just a few suggestions to inspire you. If you do treat yourself – get ready for the impact and joy it will bring.

The Animal Print

Animal print dressed down with denim gives an instant lift to casual clothing.

The Multicoloured

The coat that gives you so many colour options for your outfit and packs a real punch.

The Colour Boost

Adding a vibrant colour – an instant mood-lifter for you and those who see you.

The Blanket Check

All the cosiness you need from a coat without compromising on style.

The Embellished

The devil is in the detail – taking the ordinary mac to a new level of style.

The Traditional Houndstooth

With a detachable scarf, this coat is super chic and gives you multiple ways to re-style it.

Checkmate!

A classic tailored style with a modern twist (and who doesn’t love the versatility of a co-ord?).

You're very welcome
