Small treats that make an impact…
Like many of you, I spent much of last week speaking to friends, family and my fabulous clients to check they were all well and to see if they needed any specific advice from me in terms of looking and feeling good during such a stressful time. Some requests are easier to answer than others. For instance…how to angle your laptop camera to achieve the most flattering image on Zoom - I’ll get back to you when I’ve mastered it! Whereas, sharing what I’ve bought in the last couple of weeks to cheer myself up – well – that’s a joy to do.
Here are 5 things I’ve treated myself to that are inexpensive, non-clothes related (well, all except one), but remain stylish all the same…
Original Prints
I’ve been thinking hard about supporting independent creators who are super-talented and yet find themselves struggling to keep their small businesses going. I’m sure many of you will know about Etsy (if not – you’ll love it). It’s made up of millions of people selling the things they love. The process of shopping is made so easy, it helps you connect directly with makers to find something extraordinary.
I recently created a gallery wall in our spare room/office. You’ll see a snap-shot below of favourite images collected over the years. I’ve now added this print by Quotes by Lucy and I absolutely love it. I’m a sucker for a positive quote but the great thing is - you can create your own!
Stylish Storage
Well, let’s be honest, there’s never been a better time to “sort”! I ordered a couple of these wire baskets from H&M: one for storing clutch-bags and the other for scarves. Equally they work well for an office – lots of sizes and shapes available.
Cool Fitness Clothing
Whilst I may not be buying much clothing, I did treat myself to this Me and Em outfit (currently on sale) to inspire me to move more! Whether it will fit me by the end of this lock-down – who knows?
Perfect Postcards
I’ve always been a fan of sending cards, whether to mark a specific occasion or for no reason at all. These particular ones from AndokPrints are a set of 10 illustrating fleeting moments, cityscapes beautiful lights – great to display at home and beautiful to receive. (particularly now)!
Candlelight – Everyone’s Friend!
Spending more time at home means I am actually cooking meals. Yes – you heard it here first! It’s amazing how a candle-lit table can massively improve the look of them! These swiss candles come in stunning shades (both vibrant and pastel). I’ve gone for a mix of red and rose pink but at £6 a time, you can experiment with several.
Please do pass on this post – it would be great to spread the word and connect with more people – now, more than ever before. Also if you have ideas for a future posts please do let me know by clicking here. This business thrives on its amazing clients and style post readers - I wouldn’t be here without you.
