Simple pleasures for the 4-day Easter Break
Can you tell the Easter break is one of my favourite times of the year?. Spring has sprung (kind of!); it’s a 4 day week-end which allows time for you as well as family and friends; and there’s chocolate – what’s not to love? I have devoted this week’s post to those things that will be bringing me joy this Easter - in the hope they inspire you to do the same…
Getting back to running with Nirvu
I’ve taken a break from running recently and have been surprised by how much I missed it. This weekend I am back out there and delighted I’ll get the chance to wear my new Nirvu sports top. I love its simple design; how flattering it is (fitted without being too clingy) and that it has a super-soft inside lining. I’m hugely proud of the designer - my great friend and fitness coach Jem Scragg. Jem has spent over a year collaborating with great garment technicians and researching the perfect material – and boy was it worth the wait. If you are looking for a sports top that ticks all the boxes – this is it. Jem has offered my style post readers 15% discount (through-out April) on this top and all Nirvu products – simply use the code MKS15. You’re welcome – and if you are reading this Jem, thank you for being brilliant.
Swapping over my shoes
The boots are being packed away and the mules, espadrilles, ballet pumps and sliders are coming out. I may be a tad early but I’m ready!
Using my new body scrub
I’m a sucker for a great body scrub and with a 4-day break looming, it’s the best time to try out my latest. It smells incredible (rosemary with a hit of mint) and promises to not only detoxify and hydrate the skin but rejuvenate mind and body (YES PLEASE!)
Reading my latest book
Anna Murphy Fashion Director, The Times has received rave reviews for her latest book including this one from Elizabeth Day “Full of uplifting advice, practical wisdom and kind intelligence: I certainly felt more fabulous after reading it”. I’ll report back with my takeaways for you!
Assessing my Spring/Summer Clothing
At this time of year I take out all my spring/summer clothing and go through it to see what still fits; what I still love; what needs updating. Usually, it’s t-shirts and vest tops that need replacing as these are my go-to spring/summer staples and can look tired and worn at the end of the season. I love stocking up on fresh white, marl grey and French navy. My favourites are from Arket, Baukjen (use code MKS15 for 15% discount), Whistles and Reiss.
What are your plans this Easter? Can you carve out some time to: read your favourite book; invest in a great piece of sports clothing and go for that run, walk, cycle; check out your spring summer clothing see what staples you need; try that beauty gift that’s remained unopened in your bathroom cabinet. Whatever you do – enjoy it and don’t forget the chocolate!
You're very welcome
Have a great week-end and feel free to share this post.
