Maggie wears…Tulle
Hi, just me, casually hanging out on the stairs and by the window-sill, as you do! Ignore the posed shots (never comfortable in front of a camera) and focus on the tulle.In particular, the Amanda Wakeley tulle skirt which I love so much I had to get it in black too (damn you Amanda)!
You may have noticed, with party season upon us, there’s a lot of tulle around.Whilst I love it, I prefer to wear it a little less “dressed-up”.I bought this skirt in the summer and wore it endlessly with:
- t-shirt and wedges;
- a camisole and long knitted cardigan; and obviously
- a white shirt and plimsoles.
Each time I wore it – I felt great.During Autumn/Winter I wear it with:
- a fitted roll-neck jumper, brogues and a leather jacket;
- a sleeveless silk top (and a suit jacket to toughen up the look);
- an oversized, chunky knit and boots.
It is such a hard-working piece in my wardrobe, which is exactly what you want when investing in quality pieces. Unfortunately this version is no longer available (although Amanda tends to re-design a similar version each year – (for reasons – see above).
So, if you have a “dressy” skirt in your wardrobe or are in need of some inspiration, check out these tulle, feather and lace versions from Needle & Thread, Cos and Reiss and look beyond the party season for reasons to wear one.
You’re very welcome
