Maggie Recommends… her favourite Spring/Summer heels

Victoria Beckham Spring/Summer 2022

It’s no secret that I love a statement shoe - two preferably, but in the fashion world everyone speaks in the singular! So, you can imagine my delight to see statement platforms gracing the catwalk for Spring/Summer. Chanel, Gucci and Victoria Beckham led the way and the high-street quickly followed. Platforms have been a wardrobe staple of mine for many years and here’s why I love them:

  • they add height, as well as comfort to avoid ‘tottering’ which is never a cool look;
  • they add edginess to outfits and balance out proportion if you are larger framed;
  • there is so much choice this season in terms of colour and height depending on how ‘out there’ you plan to go.

Russell & Bromley has launched an incredible range this season. I have fallen in love with so many of their styles (and I'm honestly not paid to say this). Before I offer you a selection of my favourites, a word to those of you who are petite. You probably already know that ankle straps are not the best choice if your end goal is looking taller. Visually, it chops off the lower part of your leg, which tends to be less flattering. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t wear statement heels. Check out the end of this Style Post for your alternatives.

As promised, if you are petite opt for block heeled mules instead, like this stunning white pair or this chic tan pair from AWAKE which are super-flattering and leg lengthening.

I hope this Style Post inspires you to try a pair of stunning platforms and if Russell & Bromley are not within your price range – check out these versions from the Office; Zara and Mint Velvet

You’re very welcome
