Maggie Loves…the mid-heel mules

Ok, I know it’s only February and it’s cold, and it’s wet BUT can we talk summer shoes please? In particular, my love of square-toed mules. This cream leather version from Top Shop is a personal favourite of mine. I love that:

• they are a great height - no tottering required;
• the heel isn’t too spindly - no getting stuck in the pavement cracks;
• they offer a lot of coverage to the top of the foot - always flattering in the heat; and
• unlike chunkier versions, they elongate the leg - what’s not to love?

I would style these through-out the summer with cuffed jeans and a white shirt; with wide leg trousers and a vest top; a belted shirt dress; a tulle maxi skirt…the list goes on. You’ll find many versions in stores and on-line from Net-a-Porter, Office, Matchesfashion and Kurt Geiger. The price-points may vary but they will all give you that effortlessly cool look - perfect for the summer months.
