Maggie Loves…Spreading The Word

Firstly, a warm welcome to new subscribers to the weekly Style Post. Lately I have been hosting events and offering one-to-one styling sessions which gives me the opportunity to invite great women to join this space. For those who are new, the Style Post began in 2015. Its aim has always been to inspire, educate, pass on style hacks and give you the confidence to look and feel incredible. In ONE word it’s all about ‘sharing’ what I know and who I know - and boy do I love to share. So let me do that…

Still Wearing Wakeley

It's no secret that I have admired Amanda Wakeley OBE for many years. I have had the pleasure of getting to know her by hosting Maggie Loves events at her flagship store in London; and styling my clients in her beautiful collections. I, like so many, miss her designs but luckily the AW pieces I own continue to bring me joy. In particular this stunning blazer; the red tulle skirt (obviously I bought it in black too); the gorgeous white shirt (you know how I feel about a great shirt); and this tux trouser suit which I’m always asked about at events. I also have it in red – told you I love AW designs. Top tip – when you find a piece you love – repeat buy if you can, you’ll never regret it.

Each of these pieces I dress up, dress down, wear in summer and winter – that’s when you know clothing is worth the investment. Whilst Amanda is not currently designing, there is an opportunity to buy or rent her iconic, remaining designs (in limited sizes) through Wardrobe HQ. Here is a selection of my favourites – effortless, chic, and oh so versatile. Trust me - you’ll always feel fabulous in Wakeley.

Your Friday Fashion Fix

Amanda has now moved on to host a fabulous podcast Style DNA  which I have mentioned before but I wanted to share (“shout” in fact) about her “Friday Night Fashion” on You Tube which she co-hosts with Jo Elvin, an award-winning editor with incredible journalistic and style flair. Between them, they cover style topics including: denim, occasion wear, sale shopping, style trends, holiday packing etc. They also critique events such as Wimbledon, the Oscars, Festivals etc. The show is authentic, fun, and full of suggestions and style inspiration. What is clear is they are great friends with different style preferences and opinions which makes their conversations so inclusive. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

You’re very welcome

Maggie Killick

Have a great week-end and feel free to share this post.
