Balenciaga: Shaping Fashion at the V&A

The focus of this exhibition is on the designer's work from the 50’s and 60’s, which was perhaps his most creative period. Balenciaga was known as the designers’ designer. When he was alive Dior and Chanel all looked to him as the leader of style and praised him as the architect of glamour. Check out this incredible exhibition and you’ll see why. I have seen it more than once and it inspires me every time.

Something to read…

As many of you know I’m a great believer that style has no age limit. One of my favourite fashion editors, Alyson Walsh, is an expert on the very subject. You may know her from the FT’s How to Spend it and the Guardian websites – if so, you’ll know she’s a great writer who offers excellent style advice. Her latest book (due to be released in September) is entitled Know Your Style. It’s all about mixing, matching and loving what you wear. You can pre-order it here. I cannot wait to read it. If it’s anything like her first book, Style Forever, we’re in for a real treat. Enjoy!
