Good news – when we need it most...

Good news – when we need it most...

It’s fair to say it’s been, and continues to be, a worrying start to 2017. With so much stress and uncertainty in the world it seems a tad superficial to discuss clothing, beauty and style. That said – I believe now, more than ever, we need something to smile about. With this in mind here are 3 things that I hope do just that: something to remember; something to try; and something to inspire you to buy. Enjoy!

To remember: Age is just a number

Audrey Hepburn once said she believed a woman’s beauty gets better with the passing years. It looks like the fashion industry finally agrees! Where once the catwalk was reserved for skinny teenagers - now it seems, ‘super agers’ have taken over. 88 year old Daphne Selfe is one of the highest paid supermodels in the world; Iris Apfel, who is 95, is busy being asked to model high-end designer wear; and 73 year old Lauren Hutton graced this year’s Spring/Summer ‘17 catwalk. These great women may have been blessed with certain attributes but what they all have in common is the belief that you should embrace life, break some style rules and have some fun – whatever your age. I couldn’t agree more.

To try: The ultimate beauty product

Regular readers will know I only recommend beauty products I’ve tried and that actually deliver results. Well, Nars have done just that with their amazing new primer. I know it’s just a primer but it will change your life! Whether your skin’s looking a little dull, un-even or oily, there’s a specific one to suit you. You’re welcome ladies and thank you Nars.

To inspire you to buy: The effortlessly stylish wide leg trouser

Back in February 2015 I talked about the wide leg trouser making a comeback, why I loved it and how to wear it. Well guess what – it’s a huge trend for Spring/Summer ‘17 (in my book it never went away and remains one of my favourite wardrobe staples). So, if you have yet to give it a go, here are some of my 2017 favourites from Amanda Wakeley, Max Mara, Zara and Massimo Dutti – not to mention the Maggie Killick Style version, made to order especially for you.

Have a great week-end and feel free to share this post.
