Getting Organised for September….
Yes, we are almost in September. For
me, and hopefully many of you, September is all about new beginnings,
fresh starts and adopting new habits. Somehow they seem easier to
keep than those we attempt in January.
In order to give myself the best possible chance of being organised for the autumnal months ahead, here are 3 things I do at the end of August which I’d like to share with you. You’ll notice none involve shopping – you’ll have to wait for next week’s inspiring ‘Shopping the Season’ Style Post – trust me, it’ll be worth it.
Block Book Appointments for the rest of the year
I spend an hour going through my diary to book appointments for dentist/hygienist; hairdresser/colourist; and regular beauty treatments (waxing, eye brows, facials etc). I know the best time to do this is immediately after your previous appointment but if you’re anything like me, I’m often in a rush and don’t have my diary with me which leaves me struggling to fit in convenient times.
Buy a new Notepad
Oh the joy of starting a brand new notepad and carrying it in your (hopefully) brand new handbag! Now that really is “back to school”. Splash out on one you really love (a bright red moleskine in my case). I swear it makes you more efficient for the season ahead!
Begin an Autumn/Winter Look-Book
Whilst you may not want to shop for Autumn/Winter just yet (it’s difficult trying on chunky knits when it’s still warm and sunny outside), but start browsing in magazines, or do some old-fashioned window shopping for those key pieces you may need (ie. new handbag, coat and boots etc). As most of my clients know the earlier you shop for the season the more style choices will be available to you.
Happy Bank Holiday week-end. What better time to do one or all of the above: you’ll thank me in December - just saying….
