Naomi Hart
I searched long and hard to find an exceptional pattern cutter: someone who understood what I wanted to achieve with my designs; who appreciated the attention to detail in each piece and who could deliver perfection. Naomi Hart did exactly that. Naomi is a rare talent - a creative pattern cutter with technical expertise; a womenswear designer in her own right - working on her own Womenswear label , exhibiting in the UK and Japan with commissions for TV and the music industry.
Nick Gwilt – Holland & Sherry
What Nick Gwilt doesn’t know about fabric simply isn’t worth knowing. His knowledge and expertise is exceptional. I needed my suiting material to drape beautifully, to feel light and yet have a rich quality to it. It’s no secret that a tailored item in luxury Holland & Sherry cloth is known for being “truly an investment and always a pleasure to wear”.
Mayur Tejura – Ringhart
Shirting material is a tricky one to get right. I needed it to be comfortable to wear, yet keep its shape and have a slight stretch. I found just that with Ringhart : an established English brand who has continued to serve the Jermyn Street and Savile Row shirt makers for decades. Their long lasting relationship with famous designers and the worlds’ best shirt makers speaks volumes for their reputation within the textile industry.
Charlotte Bailey – Pongees
When it came to researching silk suppliers one name continued to pop up: Pongees - when I visited them I could see why. They have an incredible array of the finest silks. Their fabrics are designed to meet the exacting demands of couture designers and top-end high street fashion. They take pride in being experts and meeting the creative requirements of new as well as established designers.
Jonathan Bernstein and Dan Thompson - Bernstein & Banley
For this collection it was paramount that all suiting was beautifully lined. It helps with the drape, keeping its shape and gives a luxurious feel the moment you put it on. Bernstein & Banley are an exceptional team with an exceptional choice of linings. The colours range from rich shades to pretty pastels to quirky London and New York scenes. This long established company (working with Designers, Couture Houses, Theatre, Film & Television Companies) take pride in being one of the leading suppliers of top quality linings.
Tian Hua Zheng - Classic Cuts
Finding Tian (and the Classic Cuts team) was a dream come true. I didn’t want my pieces to be made on a massive scale. I wanted them produced by perfectionists who took care and knew the importance of attention to detail. Creativity, precision and exquisitie quality are the key strengths of Classic Cuts. The company covers retailers in Savile Row and Jermyn Street and production for designers at London Fashion Week. Their clients have included Vivienne Westwood, Jonathan Saunders, Net a Porter to name a few – I’m delighted to say Maggie Killick – Made in England is part of this esteemed list.
