What to do on those days when nothing feels good on you?

What to do on those days when nothing feels good on you?

Have you ever had one of those days where you’re convinced nothing looks good on you? An outfit that you loved last week (and received so many compliments on) somehow just doesn’t feel the same on you today. It’s bizarre, it’s irrational but it happens. Our reaction can often be to dash out and buy something new. BAD IDEA – trust me. Panic buying is never a good idea - you’ll tend not to love it, it won’t make you feel better and will therefore be a waste of time and money. So what do you do?

In my opinion, it’s about concentrating on the finishing touches.

Being well groomed makes the world of difference to how you feel. Take some time out to pamper yourself – you won’t regret it and boy will you look and feel fabulous in the simplest outfit. Why not try one (or all!) of the following:

Book a professional blow-dry . Many hairdressers offer an express blow-dry or ‘hair-up’ service Hershesons or look into corporate VIP services at hairdressers such as Headmasters. They have great discounts available.

Buy a new lipstick and/or experiment with a new shade. Whether you choose matte, satin or gloss Nars are a fabulous brand that have an incredible choice available. Jungle red and Vera are two of my favourite shades .

Whether you choose a bold red (is there any other colour?) or a less obvious shade it will make such a difference to how you look and feel.

Get a great pedicure/manicure. There are so many products out there if you don’t want to go to a salon.

With your hands and feet looking gorgeous you can show off your favourite bracelet or ring or prettiest sandals with confidence.

Body scrub, moisturise and add a great summer glow

I’m a little obsessed with body scrubbing and moisturising. I’m currently using Body Shop’s Spa Fit smoothing and refining body scrub. I’m amazed at the difference it makes to the texture and tone of my skin (and it smells divine). I’d also strongly recommend Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Intensive Moisturising body treatment. It is incredibly light, sinks in easily and gives your skin a great luxurious feel.

Finally, if you are like me and constantly in search of a great natural looking glow try James Reed for the ultimate sun-kissed look. Here are two of my favourite products which do just that.

Think about your finishing touches, your grooming regime –make the most of what you have and always remember ‘the devil is in the detail’. If you would like to find out more about my finishing touches service you will find details under the personal shopping section of my website. As always it would be a pleasure to help.

Enjoy your week – feel free to share this post.
