The alternative Christmas Jumper…

Well Christmas is officially here which means festive clothing has arrived. Designers can’t help taking a perfectly fabulous jumper and adding sparkle, sequins or glitter – in some cases all 3! I’ve never really understood why but then I’ve never understood Ugg boots, nude lipstick and onesies so who am I to judge? Don’t get me wrong, I love Christmas: the present wrapping, the socialising, the sheer madness of it all but why not forget the festive jumper and bring on the festive (aka “statement”) shoes.

I adore them flat, heeled, velvet, patterned or jewelled. They can make the simplest outfit look more stylish and interesting. My favourite way to wear then is dressed down with an oversized knit and denim (girlfriend or boyfriend) which show the ankle and some attitude. Here are some of my favourites to give you some inspiration. Whether you invest in a pair now, or wait until the January sales, they’ll become a wardrobe staple whatever the season or occasion.
