Summer bargains in January…YES PLEASE
A key trend for January is to refrain from shopping and wait for the beautiful New Season Collections to hit the stores.I’ll be putting together a New Season Style Post which will give you a summary of all the key trends and a host of inspirational ideas on how to wear them – but what now…
I rarely find January sale shopping very interesting.Much of what is left on the rails mid-January is fairly unappealing (particularly Autumn/Winter pieces). However, what I do tend to do is check out Spring/Summer sale pieces (yes they are around) and quite fabulous. To prove my point her are 3 pieces I’ve brought and will keep tucked away until the glorious Spring weather arrives.
Massimo Dutti’s stunning silver flats
Nothing looks more chic than a pointed flat shoe. These would look beautiful with a pair of silky wide leg trousers; with an ‘all-white’ outfit; or with cuffed denims and a simple white t-shirt.In my view, silver shoes are a key staple for any stylish woman’s wardrobe – just saying!
French Connection’s effortless shirts
This shirt is one of French Connection’s key staples and for good reason. It comes in many colours and I particularly love the blue and gingham versions which are both on sale (white and navy remain full price but still a great price-point).The style is quite oversized so I went down a size.I also think it looks more flattering half-tucked than loose. It will work with everything from denims to a pencil skirt and heels for the office or shorts and flip-flops when summer truly arrives.
J Crew’s super-flattering swimwear
J Crew have a fantastic sale on swimwear so what better time to try a new style and gain some incentive to get fit for Spring/Summer. I loved the high-waisted retro version of this one and know it’ll look fab with a white shirt when I need a cover-up.There are lots of options to suit your style and shape and you can mix and match if you want to be a bit more adventurous.
I hope this inspires you to check out some key sale pieces for Spring/Summer – you’ll thank me when the sun shines.
Have a great week-end and feel free to share this post.
