Restocking Timeless Summer Staples

Restocking Timeless Summer Staples

I’m not a huge fan of summer sales. Don’t get me wrong, I love a bargain (who doesn’t), but often we get tempted by the price tag - particularly as we head into holiday season. There are, however, key pieces I love to re-stock each summer. I feel refreshed and ready for my holiday knowing they will be the backbone of my summer wardrobe.

If you need a refresh for summer here are 3 of my summer staples. I hope they inspire you to think about yours and create your most stylish summer yet.

Stylish Shades

I own a fabulous pair of Prada shades, but I often indulge in a less expensive (but equally stylish) pair to experiment with shapes and colours. It’s a great way to find the frames that suit you best, before investing in a designer pair. There are so many options on the high-street now, that offer great protection without the designer price-tag. Remember, a stunning pair of shades will make you feel cool, whatever you’re wearing.

Chic Linen Shirts

Linen looks so chic in summer and adding one to my summer wardrobe is one of my great joys. It is also one of the most practical pieces for holidays – worn over swimsuits, open over a dress, or as part of a co-ord. One shirt, 3 ways – simple. It doesn’t need to be white (but it does need to be fabulous).

Understated Vest Tops

I continually wear vest tops in summer so restocking them makes sense as they can lose their shape after continual wear. I usually opt for white, black (or navy) and a bolder colour or stripe. Again, they add versatility and will take you through to autumn, worn under a blazer or shirt. If vest tops aren’t for you – consider re-stocking your favourite t-shirts.

Beautiful Underwear

I have always loved underwear (matching obviously – but I don’t judge!), and the feeling it gives me whether someone else sees it or not. Summer sales are a great time to reassess your underwear drawer. Often before my holiday I’ll opt for a frivolous set (rather than neutral shades) for the sheer joy it brings me. Why not treat yourself from the brand you know lifts you (in more ways than one!).

You're very welcome

Have a great week-end and feel free to share this post.
