Not a fan of wearing linen…try again

Many women I know dislike linen. The top reason being ‘it creases too much’. Well, I’m on a mission to change your mind. Whilst it's true that linen is more likely to wrinkle than other fabrics, you can do a few things to prevent it. Here are my top 5 tips together with a selection of stunning linen pieces to tempt you back into the fabric that looks effortless, cool and is fantastic in this heat.

  1. First, avoid overloading the washing machine or dryer, which can cause clothes to bunch up and crease.
  2. Remove your linen from the dryer while it's still damp and hang it up immediately.
  3. Opt for a linen-blend which will reduce the natural wrinkling qualities of linen.
  4. Use a crease release spray or spray your linen with starch whilst still damp. If you wait until dry you’ll iron the creases in!
  5. Embrace the wrinkles (easier said than done for many) but remember, wrinkles are a sign of good quality linen. The higher the standard, the stronger the fibres and the better the quality.

Need more convincing to give linen a try? Check out just some of my favourite pieces that will give you a ‘pulled together’ look that remains effortless and understated. This selection can be easily dressed up or down to take you from brunch, to cocktails, to events. I’ve added some co-ord options too which you can mix and match with your wardrobe to create a variety of different looks – what’s not to love?

I hope this Style Post inspires you to re-think linen, and if you do wear it, I hope you feel incredible in it this summer and for many summers to come.

You’re very welcome
