New Year Resolutions To Enjoy

New Year Resolutions To Enjoy

Welcome back to the first Style Post of 2022. Many of you will be knee deep in resolutions, whilst others will be boycotting them due to lack of interest and/or motivation. I’m a firm believer in ‘indulging’ as opposed to ‘denying’ when it comes to resolutions. Here is a selection to inspire you – you’ll notice not all are style-related because even I appreciate life is so much more than clothing.

Listen to a new Podcast...

I’m a huge fan and regular listener of Dr Rangan Chatterjee’s podcast. His New Year episode with the incredible 93-year-old Dr Edith Eger will take your breathe away. She is remarkable woman with an extraordinary story to share. I guarantee it will change how you look at life. Enjoy.

Fall in Love with YOUR style

Your choice of clothing has a huge impact on how your day will be: you can feel happier, more confident, walk with an almighty spring in your step – it just takes a little thought and the right clothing. I meet so many people who struggle with their style. Whether it’s due to lack of time, body confidence, or simply feeling unsure about their style. If this resonates with you - please stop giving yourself a hard time. Book a Style Consultation and let me help you fall in love with getting dressed. Consultations are free, one-to-one, and take place at The All Bright Mayfair. We can sit down with a coffee or glass of wine and kick start a stylish year for you. It would be joy. Simply Click HERE to book – make this the year you nail your style.

Keep a ‘wish list’ of pieces rather than panic buying

I’m not a huge fan of sale shopping. Don’t get me wrong, I love the thrill of a discount, but if I look at the pieces I love in my wardrobe, they tend to be those that have cost a little more but continue to spark joy years later. Rather than impulse buying now, why not try this: When you see something you love, save the link, add it to a wish list folder AND WAIT. Return to it in two-week’s time. Do you still love it? OR did you just ‘fancy a treat’ at the time. This exercise really hones your style. Here is the first item on my list for 2022. A gift to myself at the end of January perhaps?

Shake up your routine and start something new for you

This is the year I watch less Netflix and try something new. City Lit College offer incredible courses (face to face or on-line) covering: art & design, writing & language, well-being & fitness and so much more – you’ll be spoilt for choice. I’m currently booked on a ballet class taster session next week – wish me luck! Why not try something new and see what it ignites in you.

Work on feeling more positive about your body

We all know we need to exercise regularly and eat well but it’s also about being kind to ourselves. It’s those little things we can do to make a difference: body-brushing, using a fabulous body moisturiser, booking a monthly beauty or body treatment. The kinder you are to your body, the better it will look and the more you’ll enjoy dressing it. What body treatment could you book now? Check out Secret Spa for inspiration.

Here’s to whatever you decide to do to improve your year: big or small - I hope you enjoy it.

You’re very welcome

Maggie Killick

Have a great week-end and feel free to share this post.
