A stylist’s view on the January Sales…
Despite January being all about de-cluttering and re-organising many of you have asked for my take on the January 2017 sales. With this in mind here’s my advice to you on sale shopping together with a selection of worthy sale investments. They are all versatile, timeless and stylish which make them great wardrobe staples.
So, first the advice:
- Don’t buy anything you don’t love
We’ve all done it, purchased items simply because they’re on sale. Whilst the temptation to grab a bargain may be huge, think hard about whether you would buy the item if it was full price. If not, step away and save your money to spend on a new season piece.
- Buy items that work with your current wardrobe
If you can’t see yourself wearing the item with at least 3 pieces in your wardrobe, ask yourself how versatile it’ll be. The most stylish women I know constantly re-work their wardrobe.
- Look at designer brands you may have thought too expensive
Designer items you may feel are out of your price range become more attainable at this time of year. Rather than 10% – 20% discounts, many designers offer up to 70% discount for quality items you’ll love.
- Keep in mind what is missing or needs replacing in your wardrobe
Is your wardrobe in need of a fabulous new pair of jeans, a gorgeous cashmere jumper or a great leather handbag? The key to successful sale shopping is to stay focused and disciplined.
Ok sermon over…now to what I’ve seen and loved…
These beautiful ankle boots would look fabulous with everything from rolled-up jeans to opaque tights and dresses.
Everyone needs some stylish knitwear in their wardrobe. Sale time is ideal for adding to your collection with some luxurious cashmere.
As regular readers will know I’m a great fan of dressy heels with casual outfits. January sales are a great time to pick these up – gorgeous for summer parties and weddings.
Whether you’re a clutch bag fan or need something larger, there is so much choice in the January sales in beautiful shades of burgundy, grey or classic black.
Have a great week-end and feel free to share this post.
