3 stylish places to visit in London this week-end (and beyond)…
Have you started Christmas shopping yet? It’s too early for me, because my husband insists I wait until after his birthday (10th December) before I even mention Christmas! However, back to you…
I thought I’d share 3 places for you to visit this week-end to:
- get you in the festive mood;
- pick up a few gifts (hey it’s only me that’s married to him!); and
- hopefully inspire you for Christmas and beyond.
Fresco Film Screenings in Mayfair
Yes bring on the hot toddies, the blankets and the popcorn. Hush Mayfair are showing an outdoor screening of Breakfast at Tiffany’s (this Sunday). Who could ask for a more stylish movie in a stunning fairy-lit courtyard? If you’re looking for more of a Christmas movie check out the listing through-out December – my personal favourite Love Actually is scheduled for Christmas Eve.
Style Inspiration from the V&A and the Gift Shop!
If you have yet to visit the Balenciaga Shaping Fashion exhibition – you really should – it is simply stunning. It showcases Balenciaga’s work, with over 100 pieces of the most beautifully crafted designs. If this doesn’t inspire you for your Christmas party outfit – nothing will!
If you’re anything like me, no visit to the V&A is complete without a visit to its beautiful gift shop. Here are just a few pieces I spotted whilst there – unique, beautiful and perfect for Christmas gifts:
- A fabulous collection of fashion illustrations and photography prints (framed or unframed).
- A stunning collection of jewellery including these beautiful cocktail rings.
- The perfect pop-up book for style and fashion fans of all ages!
Lose yourself in one of the best London markets
Forget the huge shopping centres when it comes to Christmas shopping – try London’s oldest market, Spitalfields - a total joy to visit. With original designers, stalls ranging from contemporary and vintage fashion, music, bespoke children’s toys, jewellery and home interiors, there really is a stylish gift for everyone. It’s also surrounded by independent shops, cafes and bars – you’ll love it.
Have a great week-end and feel free to share this post.
